ricochet 07:00

'Ricochet' is a collaborative effort by Dsyne aka Elliot Banner of Vancouver and Woodwork's label head, Pete Grove. What started as a casual production jam session grew into a bit of a runaway tech beast... more or less an array of percussive synth hooks and driving beats, the overall combination of elements create a pounding spacious riff with an onslaught of dynamic variations...

A long-time friend of Woodwork from back in the day, Vernon Douglas (Deepen Sound) graces this release with a classic warehouse tech remix. Vern's flavoured grooves are derivative of the original but he applies his signature house funk, laying down a tough and dirty version, leaving the legendary 'deepen' stamp etched in...

Fresh from his recent 'Palpitations Vol 1' EP, Pablo Splice deflects 'Ricochet' into dark electro territory. This remix went through nine revisions before reaching this eventual destination, but it sits comfortably here. The main riffs and effects from the original version are intact, but they assimilate a new feel within Pablo's robotic breaks and jittery synth atmospheres. Some off-kilter drops and abstract vocoder barks make this one a touch more weird and extra fun...
